The Role:

Our Commercial Medical Biller is responsible for commercial billing functions. This requires expertise and coordination of medical billing processes for all payers, AR and claims management, paper and electronic submission, payment processing, financial determination, and coordination with third party vendors and insurance agencies.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with commercial medical billing and collections.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Work is performed on-site, in an office setting.
  • Knowledge of insurance processes and billing.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic medical record systems is preferred.
  • Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of EXCEL and ability to create/edit spreadsheets.
  • Experience with ADP Payroll or payroll processing helpful.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, independently, as well as in a collaborative team setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve commercial credit balances and missing payments.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs timely commercial billing functions for the agency.
  • Prepares and submits timely account balance reports.
  • Handle collection calls and follow-up billing issues with commercial accounts.
  • Addresses, investigates, and resolves any issues related to billing.
  • Provide back-up support to other office positions based on applicant’s skill set and experience.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of accounting and financial information.
  • Identifies priorities and problems with accounting functions and alerts supervisor and/or management.
  • Identifies and recommends changes which result in effective use of resources and cost containment.
  • Communicates in an effective, accurate and respectful manner.
  • Effectively uses resources and time management.
  • Demonstrates ability to work on a team and shows initiative and self-motivation.
  • Filing, scanning, and coordination of accounting, billing, and payroll documents
  • Assists in varied accounting tasks, as assigned.
