Grief counseling for adults and children

We offer individual and family grief counseling to those who have experienced the recent death of a loved one. Bereavement counselors are available to discuss your situation with you and offer resources, support, or referral information. Individual counseling sessions are available at no cost on a brief/short term basis.

Support groups for adults

Six week grief support groups for adults are offered throughout the year. Participants gain support from others experiencing grief and loss as they gain an understanding of the grief process. Groups are held at the West Salem Hospice office as well as locations throughout surrounding communities.There is no cost for these groups, however registration is required. Please contact us to register or to request more information.

Support groups for children

Six week grief support groups for 5-17 year olds are offered at our office location throughout the year. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to be eligible to attend. Adult grief groups are also available to adults bringing children to these groups. Again, there is no charge but registration is required.

Grief support groups in schools

Six week grief support groups are facilitated by our staff in local schools. If you are a school counselor interested in having a grief group at your school place please contact us with your request. Parents who are interested in a group at their child's school should contact their child's school counselor.
