History and Background of Willamette Valley Hospice

Willamette Valley Hospice is a nonprofit organization providing quality care to terminally ill individuals and their families while supporting families through the bereavement process and disseminating the philosophy of hospice through education within the community.

Willamette Valley Hospice began in 1978 by a group of dedicated volunteers compelled to meeting the needs of terminally ill patients and their families in the Willamette Valley.  Since that time, Willamette Valley Hospice has grown from caring for nine patients to over 1,100 patients each year.  The number of patients and families who receive care from Willamette Valley Hospice staff and volunteers continues to grow.
